Summary from Goodreads.com:

This debut, the first novel in a trilogy, is achingly romantic, terrifying, and filled with blistering action.

When seventeen-year-old Ellie starts seeing reapers - monstrous creatures who devour humans and send their souls to Hell - she finds herself on the front lines of a supernatural war between archangels and the Fallen and faced with the possible destruction of her soul.A mysterious boy named Will reveals she is the reincarnation of an ancient warrior, the only one capable of wielding swords of angelfire to fight the reapers, and he is an immortal sworn to protect her in battle. Now that Ellie's powers have been awakened, a powerful reaper called Bastian has come forward to challenge her. He has employed a fierce assassin to eliminate her - an assassin who has already killed her once.

While balancing her dwindling social life and reaper-hunting duties, she and Will discover Bastian is searching for a dormant creature believed to be a true soul reaper. Bastian plans to use this weapon to ignite the End of Days and to destroy Ellie's soul, ending her rebirth cycle forever. Now, she must face an army of Bastian's most frightening reapers, prevent the soul reaper from consuming her soul, and uncover the secrets of her past lives - including truths that may be too frightening to remember.
My thoughts:
I try not to have any expectations for any book I am anticipating. But secretly, I always do. And this particular book had very high expectations based on all of the buzz going around. I am happy to report that those expectations were met, and sometimes they were over exceeded.

In the beginning of Angelfire, Ellie was just like any other average teenager, until she meets Will. Then her whole life is changed, she is now a kick-butt grim hunter with a hot immortal guy fighting alongside her.

The fighting scenes are awesomely
written and it has just the right amount of details that
I can picture it perfectly and without any confusion. And trust me there are plenty of awesome fight scenes throughout the book. For those of you romantics out there there are plenty of kissing scenes too (those were my favorite!), three words: root-beer kiss! *melts*
Will, oh my, Will was an amazing character and I will admit I might have a very small(make that huge) crush on him. So small that I have his picture as my desktop wallpaper *coughs*.

I mean who wouldn't put that piece of eye candy on their desktop wallpaper?! I know *sigh* I am obsessed with a cartoon, but can you really blame me?
*back to the review now*
The dialogue between Will and Ellie is pretty much hilarious and touching at times. Heck, a lot of the dialogue was down right hilarious. The only reason I didn't stay up late to read this book was that school was on the way! Otherwise I would've spend half the night reading it, and with a massive book hangover the next day but It would've been worth it.
And the romantic moments between Ellie and Will are just a intense as the fighting scenes. The forbidden romance between the two of them makes the scenes even more powerful. Who doesn't love a forbidden romance?
I will conclude with the ending of this first installment. I just gotta say that I didn't see it coming, I cannot wait to see how that twist develops on the second book!

In conclusion, this is a great new Debut by awesome author Courtney Allison Moulton. If you like hot warrior immortals, a good plot, and a little bit of romance (and root-beer kisses) on your books, then don't miss out on reading Angelfire.

Sorry about my over obsession with Will, but he is truly an amazing character (along with Ellie) and I cannot wait to read about both of them in the near future!

Random Quote:

Cadan licked his lips as if the prospect were delicious .
"I can arrange that."
In my horror, my voice dropped to a harsh whisper. "I can't fight dressed like a sexy nurse!"

  1. I'm glad you enjoyed it. If you loved it so much, why only a 4?
I reviewed Angelfire too, just last week. I gave it a 4 too, if I remember correctly, though I wasn't absolutely wowed. Will just didn't make me melt...(<3Puck<3 still owns my heart.)

While I loved the story, I just felt that it wasn't yet a 5, a 4 is amazing though, don't you think? I just felt a 4 would be more appropriate, a 5 would be too much. I don't know If I am explaining myself, it made so much sense in my head than it does now...
