Sequel Cover Reveals!

Over the past couple of weeks, some AWESOME book covers for sequels of amazing books have been released. So here is the recap of the latest sequel book covers that I was able to find. If you have anymore YA sequel titles with recently released book covers leave a comment on this post and I will add it to the list!

I think these two covers are beautiful! They seem to be the same girl, and the cover has the same sort of essence as the first one (notice the beautiful dress and the field of flowers like novel #1).They are different but you can definitely tell that they are part of the same series!

Wow! That is pretty much all I can say. Okay, I can say more than that but seriously, this cover is amazing. I can see the contrast but yet the resemblance of the cover. The icy cover of Vanish making great contrast with the warm cover of Firelight. Both beautiful covers.

Well, I honestly liked the first cover first. It was purple! My favorite color and it just caught my attention even before I read it. The second one? Not so much. But I loved The Mark, so I will most definitely be reading The Vision.

I loved the first one as much as I love this one. They are both pretty simple covers but they are really pretty and have some sort of piece of nature in the picture. Love the colors of both covers too.

**UPDATE**
You guys, this is the UK cover, the US cover hasn't been released yet. The US title is Soul Thief. But isn't the UK cover awesome? Thanks Mariya from Mystifying Paranormal Reviews for telling me this!

I loved the first cover, and the second cover just as much or maybe more. The fire that surrounds the girl (Riley?) is soo cool lookin' and the city on the background of both covers makes them seem like a part of a series. The girl on the cover looks like she can kick my butt any time of day! By the way I just finished the first book in the series and loved it! My full review soon to com! So stay tuned for that!

Geez, it has been a long time since I have read Jessica's Guide to Dating on the Dark Side. I remembered I loved it though, so I cannot wait for this book to be released. All of Beth Fantaskey's books have beautiful and elegant covers, and this one is not the exception. On the side note, for those who read the first book (and loved it!) like me, I just found out there is a short online story about Jessica's wedding, you can read it HERE. If you already knew that, sorry! And why didn't you tell me before?! Going to read it now...

I hoped you enjoyed this post! If you did, some comment love would be greatly appreciated!

Review: Heavenly by Jennifer Laurens

Title: Heavenly by Jennifer Laurens
Publish Date: August 15, 2009
Source: Author
Publisher: Grove Creek Publishing
Cover Love! Love the clouds and the hot guy's face, I am guessing is Matthias? So simple and well, heavenly.
Age recommendation: Except for some mild drinking and other older language, I would say this
book is for any teen 14 and up.
Summary from Goodreads:

I met someone who changed everything. Matthias. My autistic sister's guardian angel. Honest. Inspiring. Funny. Hot. And immortal. That was the problem. What could I do? I did what any other girl would do-I fell in love with him. Zoe's sister darts in front of cars. Her brother's a pothead. Her parents are so overwhelmed; they don't see Zoe lost in her broken life. Zoe escapes the only way she knows how: partying. Matthias, a guardian sent from Heaven, watches over Zoe's autistic sister. After Zoe is convinced he's legit, angel and lost girl come together in a love that changes destiny. But Heaven on Earth can't last forever.

My thoughts:
So we have Zoe, who has some drinking and partying problems because of the little attention she gets from her parents. The reason? Zoe's little sister, Abira, is autistic, not to mention her brother is a druggie. But when a mysterious young man starts showing up everywher
e she and Abira goes, Zoe cannot help but wonder what this young man wants or is.

Matthias is the perfect guy, he is nice (too nice), honest, funny, and hot. Oh, and did I mention he is an angel assigned to protect Zoe's little sister Abira?

Zoe has it tough, I don't know how it is to have an autistic family member but through Zoe's eyes I can see that it is not easy. To some extent I see her point of view, and I see why she does all they partying and the drinking and first. And I would like to say that at the beginning I didn't like her much as a character.
She was pissed that Abira couldn't act like other children her age and that she was always stuck taking care of her. But as the story unfolds and she meets Matthias and he helps her understand more things about herself and her sister.

I loved Matthias, he was so innocent and pure. So much like I imagined and angel would be If I ever met one. He is also hot, funny, and charming which are things I hope to find if I ever meet an angel. I have read other novels and I they made the image of an angel so impure and non-celestial it kind of throws me off. But with Matthias he is the perfect balance of innocent and old-fashioned an immortal angel should be. Just wanted to point that out.

The story plot was very interesting and the ending, you will never see it coming. I know I didn't.
I love reading books where the main character has a change of heart for the best and this is one of them. Internal struggle between what it right and what the heart wants. It was an original love story with a twist and I loved every page of it. There is also a second possible love interest but you'll have to read the book yourselves to find out. Then come and talk to me about it! You wanna clue? Nerdy-hot! My favorite kind of guy. Is that really a word? Probably not, but it is now.

This book has a special place in my book loving heart, I will never forget it. I am not being melodramatic here, I truly and really enjoyed it. The characters are so real and so easy to like. And the story has issues people like me and you go through every day.

So want to read about an agnsty-but then not angsty- teen, who during that transition meets a handsome old-fashioned angel who is assigned to protect her little sister but they end up liking each other a little too much? Then this book, fellow book lover, is the perfect book for you!

Waiting On Wednesday

This Wednesday I am painfuly waiting on....

Summary: (from Goodreads)

Now is not the time for Carmen to fall in love. Two weeks before the most important violin competition of her career, she has bigger things to worry about—like growing out of that suffocating “child prodigy” label, and not disappointing her mother. But it isn’t just the wrong time. It’s the wrong guy. Jeremy is Carmen’s most talented rival, and according to her mother, he’s only interested in one thing: winning.

He isn’t the only one.

Carmen is so desperate to win she takes anti-anxiety drugs to control performance nerves. But what started a year ago as an easy fix is now a hungry addiction. Her mother insists now is not the time to quit, but Carmen is sick of not feeling anything on stage and even more sick of doing what she’s told.

When the darker side of the classical music industry and her mother's ambition collide, Carmen must choo
se between her career and her love for music.

Sounds so good! And by the way that is a new cover, I think it was released a couple days ago. What do you guys think...a WoW and a cover release at the same time!

Blogger Hop! Its Friday.....almost!

Okay so the rules and everything are over at parajunkee's site....don't know why I couldn't copy and paste them this time.....

Sorry I had to write this post twice because I used last weeks quote instead of todays. *blushes*
So lets get on with it! This week question....

If you are a fan of Science Fiction what is your favorite book? If you haven't read Science Fiction before...any inkling to? Anything catch your eye?

I don't have any faves...it is a hard question to answer but I will list some of my faves...And if they are NOT Sci-fi I am sorry! I am not very good with genres..some book blogger I am -.-

  1. The Hunger Games By Suzanne Collins (all three of them!)
  2. The Giver by Louis Lowry
  3. Across The Universe by Beth Revis
Geez. There are a lot of other Sci-fi books I love, but this is what my Thrusday-night-heavily medicated-sleepy self can think of so far! Trust me this is not even the start of my list......And my inkling to read sci-fi pile is overwhelming!

HAPPY FRIDAY!
